The weather forecast now says some days will be warmer than 40C, and states: Sizzling sunshine and very hot; extreme heat can be dangerous for outdoor activities

Oh, and when Fay and I visited the tourist wall at Juyongguan in Beijing back in December, it was beautiful, but slippery with ice. It was also steep enough for us – some of the steps were about half-a-meter high. My knees were knackered for days afterwards.
