Thanks for the visit Trude! 5

Trude arrived safely home in Norway a few hours ago. We have had a great time together and soon we both go back to work. I am going to have a couple of interviews soon, but will be back to where I left off along the Great Wall in a matter of a few days. The picture is taken from a section of the Great Wall that Trude and I visited while she was in China.

Wishing you all a good weekend!

I had an awesome trip visiting you in China!

Just coming close to the everyday life you live over there, in which is so different from the lives norwegians live over here! Love the way you are able to get in close contact with so many different people, playing with children, talking to old people – like that old woman in the village with her poor feet “innbundet” as the old tradition you told me about.. hoping you will meet her again when returning to Datong, it seemed she liked to share her story with you:-) Im really impressed with your Chinese verbal language! Though don`t want any funny comments about the rapid development of my abilities in BODY LANGUAGE:-)

This was a trip to never forget!
    Love T

Few more “moments” and thougts thinking of today:

    – the thin old man so eager to be taken picture of running towards us, wanting to pose in front of your camera – with two heavy buckets of mais/corn on each side of a stick on his shoulders, smiling from face to face
    – the train situation: three beds on each side of a small room, six people together! I originally thought I had the whole room for myself:-)
    – more familiar with closer distance between people: feels more natural to have people 10 cm from the face!
    – the funny face expressions of the Chineses when I went for a run in the street
    – how easily they responded to your HUMOUR – they instinctivly laughed though no words involved. Realizing that the shortest way between people maybe is just trough being human – the SMILE

Its obvious that you have understood that HUMOUR is a great way to connect with the Chinese people:-)

How can Trude forget about our time at the Hanging Monastery….lol
It was nice meeting both of you on the sunny morning climbing the cliff and taking pictures of the most unusual religious building I have ever seen in my life. I am now back in Toronto and will have to go through 4,000 pictures after this 5 week trip. I definitely was thinking of your trek when I was searching for my own breath during my own trek on the Wall between Simatai and Jinshanling.
Good luck in this new stretch.
    Michel…the old frenchman from Toronto..lol
